Windows XP 2 - Files/Folders
Three, 2 hour classes
Fee: $15
Prerequisite. Computer XP Intro and Windows XP 1 or equivalent experience.
Course Description. In this course the student will have the opportunity to practice the following on the classroom computers. Handouts for home reference will be provided.
1. Creating Folders.
a) with appropriate categories and meaningful names
b) in appropriate locations on your computer2. Creating/Importing Files
a) By getting them from a friend on external media (floppy disc, CDROM, key chain drive, zip drive or flash card)
b) By transferring files from your computer to external media in order to give them to a friend
c) By creating and storing files with software applications such as word processors documents, spreadsheets, photos, simple graphics (Paint program)
d) By capturing attachments, photos, inserts or animations from documents you receive
e) By downloading animations or text from the Internet3. Storing your files correctly
a) By creating them and storing in the correct locations
b) By rearranging files you have trouble finding into folders easier to locate4. Using Windows Explorer to more effectively perform most of the above tasks.
5. Miscellaneous tasks associated with all of the above operations.
