Prerequisites: Students must own or have access to a digital camera and bring it to class along with the camera's manual, a set of fully charged batteries and the camera's memory card or memory stick.

 Course Description:

This course provides a basic knowledge of the use of digital cameras. Hands-on practice is used to apply the information to your own camera. Topics covered will include:

1. What is a digital camera, how to use it, and what to do with the photos?

2. Types of digital cameras

3. Image storage and how to download photos

4. Digital file resolution and compression as if affects use of photos

5. Controls beyond automatic mode to improve photos

6. Use of flash

7. Batteries

8. Basics of file management of photos and preparing photos for email
