DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Provides classroom instruction on one or a variety of computer related topics to students in a computer laboratory environment.  Follows approved curricula and utilizes such techniques as lecture, demonstration, and hands-on exercises to ensure the objectives of the course are met.

Is responsible for the development of lesson plans and/or training aids, and routinely offers suggestions for course improvements, based on classroom experiential judgment.  Prepares any class materials, sets up and if necessary, puts away equipment.  May provide guidance to one or more assistants in classroom situations.

REPORTS TO:   The Training Director, who oversees the development of curricula, communicates the Computer Club training philosophy and objectives, and provides any guidance necessary.  In the classroom, the Instructor is expected to exercise his or her own initiative and judgment in conducting the assigned course of instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Specific knowledge of course materials; skill in instructing mature adults in an informal classroom setting; and ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.
