DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Helps install, configure, and maintain any and all components of equipment in the CyberCenter. Equipment includes, but is not limited to hardware (PC’s and Mac’s) and software comprising the Club’s Local Area Network; scanners, printers, and other peripherals; cabling, routers, hubs, connectors, internal and external modems, and connections to both ISDN line and cable TV ISP’s.
Periodically performs routine maintenance and runs diagnostic tests on the entire system; installs and uninstalls programs as required, and adjusts, debugs, and configures equipment and programs as needed. On a rotating basis, serves as the System Administrator on Call, and as such, is available to respond, either telephonically or in person, to trouble calls from Lab Monitors. Performs other related duties as necessary in order to keep the Lab functioning.
REPORTS TO: The CyberCenter Director, who provides administrative oversight and maintains the System Administrator Duty Roster. The Club Founder, who is normally available to resolve highly complex or unprecedented problem situations, provides technical direction.
QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience as a System Administrator is desirable but not mandatory. Training and certification in place of actual experience is acceptable, when combined with a period of orientation and OJT.
