DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

As coordinator for the Lab Monitor function, ensures that Monitor schedules are developed and posted on the Club’s Web site.  Provides basic orientation for new Monitors. Develops and maintains Monitors Handbook and ensures that all Monitors are aware of changes or additions.

Depending upon the level of training and experience of each individual Monitor, provides appropriate training and indoctrination on Laboratory rules, procedures, and philosophy of purpose and operation.  Through periodic meetings, workshops, and e-mail messages, provides a forum for the dissemination and discussion of the purposes and objectives of the Lab Monitor function.  Performs other duties and assignments as requested by the CyberCenter Director.

REPORTS TO:   The CyberCenter Director, who outlines overall objectives, provides guidance, and resolves unusual or unprecedented problem situations.  Within this framework duties are accomplished within the scope of the Lab Monitor function.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Basic knowledge of the operation and operator level maintenance of the various Laboratory equipment, and overall knowledge of Computer Club organization and functions.  Organizational and communication skills; ability to plan and administer the Lab Monitor function; and skill in establishing interpersonal relationships.
