The Audio Conversion workshop is for persons wanting to convert tapes, records or cassettes to digital format. Attendees are expected to come prepared with an audio project to convert in the workshop and then help pass along their knowledge to others in future workshops. Due to limited space around the computers and limited time for each participant, attendance is by invitation only.

Check the appropriate box to indicate the type of media (audio, slides, etc.) that you want to convert. You will then be contacted when space in a workshop is available. Lab
Monitor Training, (See Meeting Calendar for dates)
The purpose of this
session is to familiarize individuals with the responsibilities and
techniques of being a monitor in the CyberCenter Lab. Individuals
with no experience being a lab monitor or experienced monitors who just
need their skills refreshed will benefit from this session.
Please contact Gael Miller at
if you are interested in scheduling yourself in one of these sessions.
The class will last about 2.0 - 2.5 hours and will be held in the
lab. This will allow for hands on training. Each session
will be limited to six participants.
New Member Reception
The New Member Reception will include a short program giving an overview of the Club followed by a tour of the CyberCenter. Refreshments will be served. New members who have not yet attended a New Member Reception are invited to attend.
Systems Administrators Meeting
Systems Administrators are Club members who have volunteered to maintain the CyberCenter equipment that is located in the classroom, the laboratory and in the workshop. Peter Roll is the leader of this group. The Systems Administrators meet monthly, usually on the last Saturday of the month at 12:30 PM in the CyberCenter Meeting Room.
Additional Systems Administrators are needed. If you have experience in maintaining computers and are comfortable in "getting under the hood" of a computer to diagnose and repair hardware and software problems, please consider joining this group. For information contact: Peter Roll,

Hardware & Technology SIG/Web Design SIG - Special Meeting, November 1, 2006, 9:30 AM, Meeting Rooms 3 & 4, Activity Center
Speaker: Bill Buppert
Topic: dotnetnuke: a Web site content management system
dotnetnuke is an open-source Web site content management system, similar to OpenCMS used in the new Community Web Portal. It is based on Microsoft's .net and Active Server Pages (.asp) technologies. Bill Buppert will demonstrate its features and characteristics.
The Computer Club will be setting up a team of members to work on a 2nd-generation version of the Club's Web site as an update to some or all of the existing site. Community Web Portal microsites, dotnetnuke, or some other system for content management will be under consideration for part or all of this 2nd-generation incarnation. The presentation will help us assess a role for dotnetnuke in this effort. All Club members who are interested in learning more about how today's Web sites work under the hood and/or in participating in the new Computer Club Web site project are encouraged to attend.
