Cable Modem Service
Cable modem service has been available in Sun City since the
summer of 2000. The current service provider for cable TV and
cable modem service in Sun City is SuddenLink.

To get more specific information about speeds of service
and rates, call 1-888-822-5151 and navigate through the touch-tone
menus to residential service and order new service.
To the best of our knowledge at the present time (January 2007),
the current pricing for Suddenlink cable modem service for
an existing cable television subscriber is $39.95 per month for
4 Mbit/sec downstream and 512 Kbit/sec upstream service if you
purchase the cable modem. There is also a less-expensive, slower
service at about $25/mo for 512 Kbit/sec downstream -- please
check these rates and speeds at the telephone number above.
Since the beginning of cable modem service in Sun City, Suddenlink
and its predecessor companies have provided the Computer Club
with a free business account to connect both the CyberCenter and
the Ballroom to the Internet. The Club is grateful for this service
donated by Suddenlink, and in return provides technical support
to Club members, through its Mentor program. This Mentor
support supplements and in many cases eliminates the need for
Suddenlink technical support to Club members who subscribe to
Suddenlink service.
