A. Moving Day
o Open any folder by double clicking it to see a window showing the files and folders inside.
o Resize any window by using the double pointed arrows at the edges
o Move any window by 'dragging' it by the blue title bar.
o Close any window by clicking on the small X in the upper right hand corner.
o If two windows are open, the one on top (or the window with the blue title bar) is the active window. Click the inactive window to make it the active window.
o Locate the 'source' file in a window
o Open the 'target' folder in a second window
o Click (select) the source file (or folder)
o Click EDIT (Menu Bar in source file active window)
o Click COPY (to duplicate) or CUT (to move)
o Click EDIT, PASTE (Menu Bar in target window)Review A
o A file or folder, which is copied and pasted, will create a duplicate of the original at a new location.
o A file or folder that is cut and pasted will delete the file or folder from original location and put the file or folder in a new location.Preparation II - Taking a trip through your computer
o Double Click MY COMPUTER icon
o Double Click c:\ Drive
o Double Click (open) folders until you reach your destination.
(Only 1 window is open)

o Open a window, find the file or folder to be backed up
o Open a window, find the drive where the back up disk is locatedo Resize both windows so you can see the source, the target, and the menu bars
o Select EDIT, COPY on the menu of the source window
o Select EDIT, PASTE on the menu of the target windowo Folder/files will be duplicated on the backup disk
o Store the back up disk in a safe location
